When Laurie hasn't got a pen in hand or her head in a book, she can normally be found roaming the South East England countryside aboard a pony... well, when she's not mucking out, filling haynets, scrubbing water troughs, poo picking, arguing with electric fence tape, fixing post and rail or retrieving escaped ponies from the next village, that is....

Laurie has been riding for as long as she can remember, and has certainly experienced her fair share of thrills in the saddle, and many spills when tumbling out of it! She has shared the ecstasy and heartbreak that comes with owning, caring for and saying goodbye to much loved horses, and she attempts to bring these moments to life in her books.

Because caring for and riding horses is not always a fairy tale, but you will laugh and cry alongside Laurie's characters as you get lost within one of her books.
